Create a Staging sub-account
To try your app in a realistic setting, create a sub-account for your Staging environment under your existing account hierarchy. This gives you an isolated place to install your app and invite testers without affecting production accounts.
Prerequisites
- You are signed in to Trackunit Manager.
- Your user has the Admin role (or another role that can manage accounts) on the parent account. If it does not, ask an admin in your organization to create the sub-account for you.
Create the sub-account
- In Trackunit Manager, go to Administration → Accounts.
- In the account hierarchy list, select the parent account you want the Staging environment to sit under, then click Create account.
- In the Create new account dialog (it confirms "This account will be created under
the parent account: <parent>"), fill in the details:
- Name — use something clearly recognizable such as
<Your company> — Stagingso it is easy to tell apart from production accounts. - Country, City, Email, and any other organization details you want to set.
- Name — use something clearly recognizable such as
- Confirm to create the account. You will see "Account was successfully created." and the new sub-account appears under your hierarchy.
You will use this sub-account as the target when you configure your app's installation via
installation.accountIds and installation.pricingPlanPolicy (see
Controlling marketplace behavior) and when you
invite users to test.
Next step
Once your Staging sub-account exists, continue to Invite users to test.
